The underside is cardboard and the whole thing is quite sturdy and sound and to my sensibilities really pretty fabulous

I purchased it from a dealer whose mother brought it back from Paris many years ago, so know for sure it is French and of course Rene is a clue, too! Great color and nice thick impasto that feels like icing on the cake. Framed as found: 8 1 2" x 6 13 16". Oil, on board I believe: 7 3 4" x 6 1 8". A little dirty, and
